Historic Norwich is a must if you have never been before, it is both an enchanting ancient cathedral city and a thriving modern city, a balance it seems to achieve effortlessly. It boasts some of the finest medieval architecture in Britain with its cathedral, castle, city walls, half timbered houses and network of medieval winding streets. Against this exists a vibrant mix of theatres, arts festivals, museums, excellent pubs & restaurants and a wide range of shops plus the undercover market which has been part of the hustle and bustle of Norwich for over 500 years and is open everyday.
Beccles situated on the peaceful River Waveney is a fine market town and was once a flourishing Saxon seaport! The town centre has many unusual shops including antique dealers, craft shops, tearooms and a renowned weekly auction. There are many impressive period buildings including the superb parish church of St Michael's with its imposing detached tower which stands at 97 feet tall and serves as a landmark for miles around. Locals and visitors to Beccles enjoy too a quiet amble down to the quayside stopping off at one of the riverside pubs before embarking on the River Waveney Walk or the Beccles Marsh Trail a marvelous place to spot wetland birds & plants.
Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft & Southwold are just 3 of the many coastal resorts within easy reach all offering something different to the next. Visit Yarmouth for its many lively attractions including its exciting fun fair and fabulous sandy beaches or spend a day at the Yarmouth races. Visit Lowestoft for its award winning beaches, yacht marina and neighboring docks where you can buy freshly caught fish for your tea or try out the Heritage resort of Southwold one of the Victorian's favourite seaside resorts with its impressive lighthouse, Pier and interesting town centre where you can while away an hour or two browsing around its great selection of antiques, crafts and gift shops. It is also home to the world famous Adnams Brewery who still make local deliveries by horse-drawn dray!
